Financial Planner

Kate Marvel has been in the financial services industry for over 30 years.

Kate has a Bachelor’s degree in finance and a Master’s of Business Administration from Indiana University.  She also has the Chartered Financial Consultant and Chartered Life Underwriter designations.  

Kate began her business career as a banker.  She worked in retail banking, private banking and was a commercial loan officer.  In 1989, she left banking to begin a new career as a financial planner.  She specializes in middle America with an emphasis on retirement income planning.  Along those lines, she has a great deal of experience in the area of Social Security planning and teaches seminars on that subject.  She also has appeared as the local advisor for Indianapolis on America’s Wealth Management Show.

She was adjunct faculty at Ivy Tech Community college and taught financial planning courses at two of their locations.  Kate was formerly a board member of the nationally ranked Ball State University Entrepreneurship program.   She was also a classroom consultant for grades 1-6 and a Project Business Consultant for grades 7 and 8 for Junior Achievement.  She is also a member of the Broad Ripple Kiwanis club.

Kate and her husband, Connie, make their home in Indianapolis, Indiana.  She enjoys food blogging at kateiscooking.blogspot.com  and has won a couple of national cooking  awards.  They also enjoy their grandchildren, traveling, entertaining and gardening.
